trevor E. pinegar
PASTOR
Pastor Trevor joined Federated Church in 2013 as youth and music pastor under the direction of Pastor Jeff Sanderson. Rev Trev originally came to Federated as a young person in 1997 discovering a passion for ministry serving in Youth Group, Awana, VBS, Praise Team, Choir, Sound Production ministry, and more. Federated Church called Pastor Pinegar into the lead teaching and preaching role on May 5, 2019.
Prior to serving at Federated, Trevor worked as a fundraising consultant for nonprofit organizations assisting churches, hospitals, animal shelters, libraries, and more as they garnered private funds for major building renovations. Prior to that he worked in the corporate offices of a local insurance provider. Trevor received his undergrad degree in History from the University of Northern Iowa and is pursuing a Masters in Practical Theology at Faith Baptist Theological Seminary. Pastor Trev serves alongside his wife Kimberly (Kim) and three sons. In the fall of 2019, the Pinegars relocated to Bondurant in an effort to live and grow in the community they serve. Trev and Kim believe in actively engaging the community through belief in the Lord Jesus and a heart for the lost.

This church is my home and this congregation is my family. Being a pastor isn’t what I do, it’s who I am and I learned that here.”

FAMILY & CHILDREN’S MINISTRY DIRECTOR
The Lord led Thomas and his family to Federated Church in May 2021. Him and his wife Alex have 3 boys and 2 girls. Throw in the 3 cats, and you come up with the crazy, beautiful, loving mix that is their home.
Thomas is the “back of house” guy here at Federated under Pastor Trevor’s direction. Pastor Trevor takes care of up front, and Thomas takes care of the youth group, children’s bible hour, children’s church, etc. He also focuses on discipling men to lead their own families and unleash their own ministries both in this church and in our community.
“I love every day of my work; I love the flexible, crazy, unknown mix that is my schedule. I work a lot with logistics and scheduling, but I so enjoy getting to work with people and doing life alongside everyone that’s connected to the ministry here at Federated.”

MINISTRY COORDINATOR
Kathy Korthals joined the staff as Ministry Coordinator in June 2020. Before coming on staff as Ministry Coordinator, she has served as the Church Treasurer, deaconess, financial secretary and an Awana Secretary. Ministry Coordinator is just that, coordinating the different aspects of the ministry at Federated Church along with Pastor Trevor and the other staff. This involves everything from preparation for Sunday mornings and other events to ordering supplies and answering the phone or emails. Kathy is married to Gilbert and they have 4 adult daughters and 1 son in law.

COMMUNICATIONS & EVANGELISM DIRECTOR
Kenna joined the staff at Federated in March 2023. Before that, she became a member of Federated in 2020, and began volunteering as a Youth Leader, as well as in Awana, the nursery, leading Sunday School for our high school students, and by photographing church events. She tackles the communications & evangelism side of things, while embracing all things creative. You will probably see her on Sunday mornings with a camera in her hands, dialing in the livestream, or welcoming guests.

Kristin brostrom
choir DIRECTOR
Kristin started attending Federated Church in 2002 and has been Choir Director since 2006. The Choir ministry includes the Adult Choir (for 7th grade to Adult), Junior Praise (for elementary age, with co-director Jae Dwyer), and Bell Choir (stay tuned!). She also serves in Awana, VBS and Sound Team. Kristin is grateful for musical parents who gave her a love of making music for the Lord from a very young age.
In her day job, Kristin is Assistant Director of Engineering for Urbandale. She has a B.A. in Political Science from Wheaton College and B.S. in Civil Engineering from Iowa State University. Kristin also plays violin with the UnityPoint Players and other groups. And Kristin and her parents love working at the Iowa State Fair with the Horse Department each summer.
